Come take an introductory or advanced course on foraging! This is a continuous skill that is one of the most valuable skills to have in the wilderness. You will learn everything from plant identification, to what plants are edible, but even more importantly want plants you can survive off of and make a staple part of your food source. Learn all about edible plants in the Pacific Northwest!

Safely identify about 40 wild edible plants, trees and shrubs here in Washington.

Collect and sample wild plant foods, using nature as your classroom

Identify harmful plants to avoid

Find safe locations to collect and forage

Identify whether the plant is Native or Introduced

Employ conservation techniques to ensure that there is plenty for future generations

Cost: $140 per person
Duration: Approx. 4 hours
Course Location: Varies per class & season, in a wilderness setting.
Required Equipment: Bag lunch and drinks for yourself, appropriate clothing and wet weather gear for the expected weather, a pocket knife (any kind) and a pen to take notes.
Recommended Equipment: Some seating is available at camp, but please bring a camp chair if you have one.
