1 | The Course
Often imitated, but never duplicated - our Primitive Cooking class is a feast in the making.
Spend the morning with us, as we cook a tasty lunch for the entire class. Then try different culinary techniques in the afternoon, as we prepare a feast for our dinner.
Our Primitive Cooking course will teach the food preparation skills of our ancestors as we use traditional cooking skills to create a feast for the mind and belly.
-
Cooking techniques will be taught using modern food ingredients (store-bought meat, vegetables, and staple foods like flour and oil) and will include the following skills:
-
Build a stone oven from rocks and mud
-
Dig a steam pit for in-ground cooking
-
Fry some crispy treats with the method of rock frying
-
Bake foods in the coals of the fire
-
Try rock boiling for soup or tea
-
Build an Algonquin style green wood grill to "Barbecue" meat and vegetables
-
and learn much much more!
